In April 2025 Aberford C of E Primary School became the sixth school to convert to an Academy and become part of the Selby Educational Trust.

In January 2021 Carlton Primary School was the second school to convert to an Academy and become part of the Selby Educational Trust.

In August 2024 Cliffe Voluntary Controlled Primary School became the fourth school to convert to an Academy and become part of the Selby Educational Trust.

Fairburn Community Primary School was the fifth school to convert to an Academy and became part of the Selby Educational Trust in February 2025.

Fairburn Community Primary School is a traditional village school. The vision which completely underpins the school is the sole aim that they want all children to receive the highest standard of education possible but that they will enjoy our school and feel happy here in a caring, safe environment.

Selby Community Primary School was the first school to convert to an Academy and became part of the Selby Educational Trust in December 2017.
